CLERK’S JOURNAL OF A SPECIAL SESSION OF THE COUNCIL

OF THE CITY OF EATON, OHIO, HELD IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS

OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, AT 7:00P.M., ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 8, 2008

 

Mayor Robert Stonecash called to order a special meeting of the Eaton City Council on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at 5:00 p.m., in Council Chambers of the Municipal Building.  The Deputy Clerk called the roll and found the following to be:

                        Present:          David Kirsch (joined the meeting at Executive Session)

            Ben Maffett

                                                Gary Wagner, Vice Mayor

                                                Robert Stonecash, Mayor

                        Absent:            None  

 

CHIP GRANT

Mr. Daily discussed some details of the regarding the City’s 2008 CHIP grant.  RFQs are being prepared for an administrator of the grant.     

 

VACANT COUNCIL SEAT

Councilman Wagner moved to declare the Council seat of Joe Renner vacant.  Councilman Maffett seconded the motion which passed as follows:

Ayes:  Maffett, Wagner, Stonecash (3)

Nays: None (0)

 

Councilman Maffett moved to name Council as a whole the committee to research candidates for this seat.  Councilman Wagner seconded the motion which passed as follows:

Ayes:  Renner, Kirsch, Maffett, Wagner, Stonecash (5)

Nays: None (0)

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Councilman Maffett moved to adjourn to Executive Session to discuss legal matters with the Law Director who was present, the City Manager and Finance Director.  Councilman Wagner seconded the motion which passed as follows:

            Ayes:  Kirsch, Maffett, Wagner, Stonecash (4)

            Nays:  None (0)

 

Councilman Wagner moved to return to regular session.  Councilman Maffett seconded the motion which passed as follows:

            Ayes: Kirsch, Maffett, Wagner, Stonecash (4)

            Nays: None (0)

 

Mayor Stonecash announced there was no action taken.

 

ADJOURN

Councilman Maffett moved to adjourn.  Councilman Wagner seconded the motion which passed as follows:

Ayes: Kirsch, Maffett, Wagner, Stonecash (4)

            Nays: None (0)
