CLERK'S JOURNAL OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EATON, OHIO, HELD IN THE

CHAMBERS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, PREBLE COUNTY, OHIO,

AT 1:30 P.M., ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2005



Mayor Robert Stonecash called to order the special meeting of Eaton City Council on Monday, February 7, 2005, at 1:30 p.m., in the Chambers of the Board of County Commissioners, Preble County, Ohio. The Deputy Clerk called the roll and found the following to be:

 

ROLL CALL

                Present:  Joe Renner

                                 Dave Kirsch

                                 Ben Maffett

                                 Gary Wagner, Vice Mayor

                                 Robert Stonecash, Mayor

 

                Absent:   None

 

Also in attendance was City Manager Dave Daily, Clerk of Council Leslie Renner, Law Director Donnette Fisher, and other City staff members, also, Preble County Commissioners Dave Wesler, Jane Marshall, Bill Withrow, and County Administrator Ken Moreland and other County staff members.

 

DISCUSSION

Following a tour of the Commissioners' newly remodeled offices and chambers, Mr. Wesler led the meeting with topics of discussion including County economic development with Jon Hartman, including possible plans for the Route 127/Interstate 70 intersection; plans being made for the City's upcoming bicentennial in 2006; a recent fire incident at the County's Family Services facility; policing concerns at the Fairgrounds; possibilities for County-owned land at the corner of Lexington Road and Park Avenue adjacent to the City's Seven Mile Park; an upcoming meeting of the CIC regarding state funding; and a presentation by Eaton Police Chief Phil Romeo regarding the need to upgrade the City and County's emergency dispatch communication centers.

 

The next joint meeting of the Commissioners and Council was set for Monday, June 21, 2005, at 7:00 p.m., at the City Building.

 

ADJOURN

Councilman Maffett moved to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Renner seconded the motion, which passed as follows:

Ayes: Renner, Kirsch, Maffett, Wagner, Stonecash (5)
